London International Wine Fair & Distil 2008

This year's London International Wine Fair and debut event, Distil, at London's ExCel venue, proved to be a red letter day for the wine & drinks business calender. A record 14,903 visitors attended over the three days. Again, Hyperion Associates found the LIWF to be an extremely pleasant & productive event to conduct both business and catch up with the latest developments. Launching the Distil show, a dedicated spirits event, alongside the main show, is a clever move.
Bojana Kosanovic, marketing manager for Oddbins and Nicolas UK commented, "The LIWF is one of the most important events of the year for us as many of our suppliers and clients can all be found under one roof. It allows me to see a lot of key people that we work with in a short space of time".
Gearoid Devaney, head sommelier and wine buyer for the Tom Aikens group, commented, "The LIWF is still a very important event in the wine calendar because it gives the on-trade the opportunity to meet the winemakers and discover new horizons of the wine world."
The organisers broadcast live footage from both events via the web which you can see on the LIWF site. The List will stay up and running throughout the year and provides a valuable search tool for wines from around the world. Briefing sessions are available to download.
Next years dates for both the LIWF and Distil are 12-14 May 2009.
